Noah doesn't come from a line of good swimmers. His did and his grandma cannot swim - even after swim lessons they cannot swim. I think they are just not meant to. Me and my family are decent swimmers. So, I always said that when Nathan and I had a child we would get him/her in the water as soon as possible to get them comfortable and hopefully they would be able to swim.
Learning to lay on his back. |
Noah's favorite part - the balls! We had to get them as soon as we got in! |
I saw the swim lesson signs all over town and called and signed Noah and I up for Parent & Child Aquatics being taught by the American Red Cross here at the pool in Clarksville. My niece had taken them when she was a few months younger than Noah so I had an idea of what to expect.
All he wanted to do was throw them out and have someone chase them! |
Chasing the balls! |
Noah has lots of loving friends and family and a Momma that likes to shop so he wasn't hurting for bathing suits to wear to his lessons - and of course I got a picture of each of them!
The lessons were from 6:00 - 6:45 4 nights a week for 2 weeks. It was a good time of day for Noah and wasn't too long or too short. It was perfect!
His teacher turned out to be an acquaintance so that helped too. Noah was the youngest in his class. There was an 18 month old girl who was smaller than him, but all the other kids were 3-5 years old.
Learning to hold on the the side all by himself! |
Yum - he liked to taste the water! Weirdo! |
Blowing bubbles! |
Noah learned how to blow bubbles in the water, lay on his back (with Momma holding him of course), kick his legs to swim after toys, jump/fall of the side of the pool to Momma, hang onto the side of the pool all by himself!
Blowing Daddy kisses! |
Getting ready to jump in! |
He loved jumping in! |
